Librarians and other information professionals have successfully separated themselves from research materials, moving needed resources to online access models and digital repositories, and capitalizing on the wealth of information available through the internet. Why not separate them from clients as well? Our presenter will share her experiences as a “virtual” research librarian for ten years. She will discuss strategies for communicating with both clients and co-workers, and continuing to be a part of the team in spite of the location and time differences.

While this trait is not unique to organizations with strong knowledge management programs, information sharing is essential to KM success. Our presenter, a “natural networker,” will share tips and techniques to building a professional network.
