What does it really mean for research to be Reproducible? How realistic is it? Is it of sufficient What does it really mean for research to be Reproducible? How realistic is it? Is it of sufficient importance to overcome the difficult nature of it? To what extent might researchers need to alter their work practices? What are the incentives for the scientists?
This is a big topic with many ramifications. While we cannot treat all of them, the speakers will explain possibilities for advancing reproducible computational research.
PAM Division tour of TRIUMF and the Rose Garden at the University of British Columbia (UBC)
The day begins with a tour of TRIUMF, Canada's national laboratory for particle and nuclear physics, followed by a no-host lunch at "Sage" (http://sage.ubc.ca/) restaurant and ending with a self-guided walk of the Rose Garden and other facilities on UBC campus.
Transportation to TRIUMF, between locations, and back to the starting location will be provided.
The tour of TRIUMF and the Rose Garden will require walking.
Leave downtown (Marriott Pinnacle) at 9:00am and return 4:00 pm by chartered bus.
